Torchdown is a heat applied membrane that is available in both smooth and granulated surfaces. Torchdown is made with a base sheet of fiberglass matte and one to two layers of modified-bitumen saturated polyester matting. With Granulated Torchdown, the top sheet is coated with a granular surfacing product allowing it to be produced in a variety of color combinations. Besides being visually compatible, this granular surface affords Torchdown the necessary protection against ultra-violet damage.

As the above picture demonstrates, Torchdown is applied with a torch. The seams are heat welded, which result in an excellent bond that will perform well over years of expansion and contraction.
